Calculator Use

Calculators that graph, scientificand multi-function computers can be used or are allowed for certain practices (r) tests. Unless it is explicitly declared that a particular calculator is allowed for a specific test, calculators may not be employed.

Test-takers are not permitted to use calculators in a shared manner.

Tests That Do Not Permit Use of a Calculator

In general, unless specifically stated that a specific kind of calculator is allowed or required for a specific test, calculators cannot be used for any test. test.

Tests That Permit the Use of a Calculator

You may use a four-function or scientific calculator for test. Middle School: Content Knowledge (5146) test, although you aren't required to use one. Bring your own calculator to the testing centre. There is no calculator available in the test center. A graphing calculator will not be allowed in this test.

Types of CalculatorsThat Are Not Permitted

The following items are not allowed during Praxis examinations:

  • Laptops and portable computers
  • Electronic pads for writing

  • Calculators on phones watches, electronic devices
  • Models that include QWERTY or other alphabetic keyboards as part of either software or hardware
  • Models that print
  • Models that make noise , or "talk"
  • The models require an outlet
  • Models that can access the internet OR have either wireless, or Bluetooth (r) capability.
  • Models that include a camera that can scan or scan, as well as digital audio/video player recording/player capabilities

In addition, the usage of any hardware peripherals is prohibited.
